The Dark Moon Exhibition Melbourne 20th April 2024
It's almost time for the next Dark Moon Expo!
This will be the last one in Melbourne for the year, this is our favourite event and we always have SO much fun.
There will be lots of amazing businesses, stalls and live demonstrations. The demonstrations are included in your ticket price and you can watch them at no extra cost!

First Live Demonstration:
Session 1,
9.15am start
Taxidermy, how to build a form with Odd Taxidermy
Audrey, a talented and lovely local gal will be continuing her demonstration from the last expo in January.
She will be constructing the form of a taxidermy specimen. It will be a small and intimate demonstration and questions are welcome. It's perfect for those who want to learn how to do taxidermy or even if you're just interested in how the process works.
Be sure to get a ticket to the first session of the day, the taxidermy demonstration starts at 9.15am.

Second Live Demonstration:
Session 2,
12.15pm start
Insect Pinning Demonstration with Violet Eyes Entomology
Who doesn't love pretty butterflies!? The brilliant Violent Eyes Entomology will have an hour-long demonstration for the 2nd session and will be pinning a range of different insects from spiders to butterflies. If you want to know how to create your own framed insect be sure not to miss this!
Again, there will be plenty of time for questions and you will be guided from start to finish on the basics of insect pinning.
If you would like to see the insect pinning make sure you get a ticket to the 2nd session as this demonstration starts at 12.15pm.

Making a Paper Mushroom with BellaPaperFlora
The 2nd session of The Dark Moon Expo this time around will have TWO live demonstrations!
Believe us when we say, Natasha is a genius! We walked past her stall and thought she was selling a real bat but it was made totally from paper.
She will be going through all of the intricacies of insects and the details of imperfections that naturally grow with mushrooms. She will also be giving away the finished product to one lucky spectator as well.

Forth Live Demonstration:
Session 3,
3.00pm start
Sculpting Demonstration with Gore FX
We are so so SO excited about this one! Gore FX will be doing a sculpting of a horror figure for their demonstration. Danny will be explaining how to do the basics of sculption to create an amazing and detailed figure similar to the ones you see below. He has been sculpting for over 20 years so be sure to come watch and ask questions or just bask in the brilliance and expertise.
This will surely be one you will not want to miss!
If you would like to see the Horror Sculpting Demonstration please make sure you get a ticket to the 3rd session as this demonstration starts at 3pm.

This is hands down our favourite event, everyone is welcome and the atmosphere is so great.
